Mr. Berfas currently serves as a Managing Director for Newmark Knight Frank (NGKF), a global commercial real estate services firm with over 300 offices worldwide. Mr. Berfas along with his business partner, Daniel Oliver, run a team of professionals that provide corporate real estate advisory, landlord, and investor services to clients on a local and national basis. Starting his career in late 2002, he has been involved in transactions with an aggregate value of approximately $500 Million and received numerous industry awards including being a two—time recipient of the Association for a Better Long Island’s Ingenious Deal of the Year Award and LIBN’s top Office Deal in 2013 and top office/sale leaseback in 2014.
Mr. Berfas has also been instrumental in creating significant economic impact for the Long Island region by securing municipal and state incentives that have assisted in the retention of over 2,000 employees from a myriad of different industries in Nassau and Suffolk Counties. He is a strong proponent of economic development as a means to sustain and grow our diverse and skilled labor force on Long Island.
Mr. Berfas prides himself on being a good corporate citizen and currently sits on the board of directors for two 501 (c) (3) organizations, Long Island Elite and Harbor Child Care. In addition, he has provided winter clothing, food, toys, and financial support for underprivileged children for past five years.
Having strong family values has always been paramount. Mr. Berfas resides on Long Island and enjoys spending time with his wife Rikki and children, Brody and Sophia. Sophia has her Father wrapped around her finger and Brody has about nine years until he can beat his “daddy” on the basketball court.
Mr. Berfas received Bachelor degree in Economics from the University of Delaware and has completed graduate level coursework at NYU’s Real Estate Institute.
